Jakob Michael Heider, Director of Jelbi

Since June 2019, Jelbi always has the right means of transport at hand – no matter if you need a bus, train, scooter, bike, car or taxi. Jelbi already offers more mobility than anyone else: 90% of shared mobility vehicles are already available and ready to book in our Jelbi app.

Sharing mobility is part of our DNA.

Our vision: We want to make the whole of Berlin more mobile and thus relieve the growing city of private car traffic. This is our contribution to a more livable Berlin.

And that goes down well. Regine Günther, Senator for the Environment, Transportation and Climate Protection, among others, says: “Sustainable urban mobility requires the courage to come up with ideas and to embrace digital innovations – like the Jelbi offer. This app is an important tool for networking the traffic mix in urban areas and for trying out new approaches: Bicycles, scooters and car sharing are combined with public transport to get from A to B quickly, cheaply and easily. In the first year of Jelbi, 60,000 Berliners have already used the app for their daily journeys through the city – an important contribution to sustainable, city-compatible mobility.”

With our Jelbi stations, we are also making a direct contribution to the development contracts for mobility stations (mobility hubs) described in the Berlin 2019-2023 public transport plan: “The expansion and upgrading of suitable stations and public transport hubs to become mobility hubs is, in addition to linking public transport and other mobility service providers in terms of tariffs and developing digital mobility platforms, an essential way of improving this link (between public transport and shared mobility) and also making it easier in terms of space”. (Nahverkehrsplan 2019-2023, p. 141ff.).
